Born in Portugal moving to Venezuela at an early age dealing with the trials and
tribulations just like every other teenager, trying to figure out what to do
with his life experimenting with everything from acting/modeling, fashion
designing and finally finding his way to motors and machinery.
After being featured in
magazine advertisements throughout South America for well know companies such as
Levis Jean Company to guest appearances on some of the most prestigious South
American soap operas Armindo felt in his heart and soul that this was not quite
exactly what he wanted to do for the rest of his life.
Still trying to find himself, Armindo then decided to move to the United States.
That is when Zero Degree Jeans was born. Having created designs that were seen
on runways throughout the United States and participating in some of the most
elite fashion shows, he still was not happy.
Finally the time arrive, he made his decision on what he wanted to do for the
rest of his life. Fascinated by motors and machinery and creating and designing
at an early age is what drove Armindo “Kid” Alves to the visionary he is known
in the custom chopper building world today.
While accumulating his knowledge of chopper building throughout the years he
maintains “I am and have always been fascinated about choppers, I am very
passionate about my work”. Striving for perfection, Armindo has won award after
at such events like The Rat Hole in Biktoberfest and Bikeweek, Boardwalk
Daytona, Leesburg Bike Week, Phil Peterson Annual Key West Poker Run, and
International acclaim with his bikes being chosen for Essen in Germany.
When we asked Armindo if he is happy he stated “that he has finally found his
home at Sick bastard Choppers”. He is the lead builder/designer and he feels
that is surrounded with the best team of chopper lovers and they have plans to
build the next era of choppers.
We have visited the shop and have spent time watching Armindo at work and when we
asked him what can we expect from Sick Bastard Choppers in the future he said
“we will shock the world at Sturgis”.
We can only agree with his statement and we anxious to see what Sick Bastard
Choppers has in store for the chopper world
